Distant Drums

Distant Drums

$825.00Price

The scene is at Bob’s studio on Highway 47 just outside the kitchen window of the main studio.

The items are a mixture of both Union and Confederate memorabilia.

The drum on the far left is from a North Carolina regiment and was captured by Union forces at the Battle of New Bern.

The symbolism is that the fight between North and South are now silent and resting at peace beside one another.

The bench is actually an old watering trough. Note the two holes to the left where the horse would have been tied.

Bob has a vast historic civil war drum collection.
One of his civil war era drums sold at auction for $28,000. The winning bidder was Tryon Palace, New Bern, NC where it is currently on display.
