The scene is from the homeplace of famous mountain storyteller Ray Hicks. The homeplace was located between Valley Crucis and Banner Elk, North Carolina.
Bob visited Ray Hicks with Roy Ackland and David Weatherly from Channel 8 in High Point, NC. Bob was so impressed with the homeplace and Ray Hicks that he decided he had to paint the scene. This “time-release” reproduction sold an astounding amount of 6791 prints!
